The training was excellent, having a mix of trainers from different professional backgrounds made the training really interesting. what do I need to do before attending?
If you work in a service that uses the ADOS-G or ADOS-2, try to sit in on ADOS assessments to observe the administration and attend any coding discussions. Familiarise yourself with the ADOS kit and the various toys and materials relevant to each module. If you have access to a manual, read it through.
I am not a medical doctor or a clinical psychologist - can I administer the ADOS-2?
Yes. Although a doctor or psychologist is usually responsible for giving the official diagnosis in clinical practice, any professional working as part of a multi-disciplinary diagnostic team can administer the ADOS-2. Researchers from a range of backgrounds may also be trained to administer the ADOS-2. Applicants should hold a relevant undergraduate degree (e.g., psychology, education) and have some experience with autism. Professionals from a variety of backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including psychologists, psychiatrists, paediatricians, speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, social workers, nurses, psychotherapists, researchers, and education specialists.

HOW LONG IS THE COURSE?
The course runs from 0930 - 1700 UK time each day. It is necessary to complete all four training days, in full, in order to receive your certificate of course completion.

The ADOS2 Toddler Module is an assessment tool for children between 12 and 30 months old who have limited or no speech. It measures their social interaction, communication, and play skills. The module consists of 11 main activities and four sub-tasks, with 41 accompanying ratings. Children must be able to walk independently to participate in the assessment.

The trainers gave clear instruction on ADOS administration and coding. As I was an overseas participant, I asked many questions before the course, but everybody was so kind and helpful. I really enjoyed the course!
